近年新しい航空会社が次々と誕生し、格安航空が増え続けていることもあり航空業界ではパイロット不足が深刻な問題になっていると言われており、パイロットが非常に需要の高い職業のひとつとなっています。

海外でのパイロット留学は、パイロットとしての知識、スキルを身につけると同時に、英語力を向上させることができることが大きなメリットのひとつです。

日本ではパイロットになるためには非常に狭き門を突破しないといけないですが、オーストラリアでは英語条件を満たし、入学試験に合格できれば約1年間でパイロット資格を取得できるオーストラリアのパイロット養成学校があります。

Basair Aviation College（バスエアー・アビエーションカレッジ）はオーストラリア最大の航空カレッジです。Basairは1991年に設立され、30年間で4500人以上の卒業生を輩出しており、Basairの卒業生は、世界中50社以上の航空会社でパイロットとして活躍しています。
キャンパスはシドニー市内から約1時間のBankstown（バンクスタウン）の地方空港であるバンクスタウン空港内という最高のロケーションにあります。また、Basairではカンタス航空とヴァージンブルーに次ぐ、オーストラリアで3番目に大きい民間航空機である約80機の航空機を運航しています。

Basairでは60人の質の高いインストラクターを擁し、レベルの高い教育を受けることができます。

このコースにはレクリエーションパイロット、プライベートパイロット、コマーシャルパイロットのライセンスカリキュラムが含まれています。

入学条件

オーストラリア渡航前に以下の条件を満たすことが必須となります。

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Processに合格すること
ARN（Aviation Reference Number）を申請していること
Class 1 Medicalを取得していること
お申込み前の段階で英語条件を満たしていること
18歳以上
Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC)を取得していること
Unique Student Identification (USI) numberを取得していること

※上記条件をオーストラリアに渡航する前に7番のUSIを除く書類を全て揃えて頂く必要がございます。
USIはオーストラリア国内でのみでの申請となるため、こちらだけは渡航後にご準備いただきます。

英語条件

IELTS6.5以上（各バンド6.0以上）とハイレベルな英語力が必要となります。英語証明はIELTSを含め下記のテストのみが受付可能となっています。（2年以内の英語証明）
語学学校との提携はありませんが、IELTS6.5レベルは独学ではなかなか到達が難しいレベルになりますので、可能でれば語学学校でしっかりと英語力をつけてからテストを受けていただくことがおすすめです。

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Process（パイロット適性査定プロセス）

Basair Aviation Collegeにお申込みを希望する方は全員Pilot Aptitude Assessment Processの受験が義務付けられています。

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Processの目的

The purpose of the aptitude assessment is to ensure that all students are suitable for a career in aviation. We recognise that pilot training is very expensive, and to avoid disappointment we select only students that have the potential to be successful in the industry. However, please note that passing the aptitude assessment does not guarantee success in the course nor guarantee a pilot job on graduation.

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Processの詳細

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Process（パイロット適性査定プロセス）はインタビューとテストで計3時間の行程となり、スカイプで受験可能です。計算機の使用は禁止となります。

もしテストに合格できなかった場合は、6ヵ月間は再受験が不可となります。

Pilot Aptitude Assessment Processの内容

テストは3つのパートに分かれています。

・Skills and Aptitudes（スキルと適性）
・Attitude and Behaviour（態度）
・Knowledge Test（知識テスト）

1) An interview with a Basair Aviation College team member（インタビュー）
2) A personality profile questionnaire（性格プロフィールアンケート）
3) Maths and Physics exams (typically maths and physics to a year 10 level is sufficient)（数学と物理テスト：高校1年生レベル）
4) Cognitive Assessment (numerical and physical reasoning, spatial and relationship reasoning and working memory)（認知的評価（数値、物理推論、空間関係推論および作業記憶）
5) Co-Ordination and Control (a simple computer game is used in this assessment.)（コーディネーションとコントロール：シンプルなコンピューターゲームを使用）

Maths

The questions in this test are graded at three different levels which span subjects taught from age 12 to compulsory school leaving (Year 10 Level). 20 Multiple choice questions and is timed to 30 minutes. Working out paper provided. The candidate is to demonstrate mental maths.

Physics

The questions in this test are graded at three different levels, which span subjects taught from age 12 to compulsory school leaving (Year 10 Level). 20 Multiple choice questions and is timed to 30 minutes. Formulas required will be provided on the day with working out paper.

Cognitive

This exam measures and assesses a candidate’s aptitude on a range of Psychometric tests, including Numerical and Verbal Reasoning, Spatial and Relationship Reasoning, and Working Memory. The test requires headphones/ the ability to listen to audio. The test takes 45 minutes to complete, and will finish after this time regardless of whether the candidate has answered all questions.

Co-ordination and Control

This test measures a candidate’s control and co-ordination. The assessment lasts roughly 4 minutes.

Personality Questionnaire

This test measures a candidate’s responses to a personality questionnaire, measuring the candidate’s personality, values, behaviour and attitudes. The questionnaire is not timed, but it is advised that a candidate does not take more than 60 minutes.
